  • Irene Village Mall consists of 44,000m² of total floor space.  Roughly 30,000m² is dedicated to unique retail space (Gross Lettable Area) and is equivalent to 7 rugby fields.

  • 1,200 construction workers built the shopping centre.

  • 20,000m2 of concrete was used in the structure (including the foundations) and equals 8 Olympic swimming pools.

  • GD Irons, the principal building contractor cast a record amount of 669m3 of concrete in one day.

  • Approximately 120km of electrical cabling was used, which is equal to a one-way road trip to Bela-Bela.

  • Irene Village Mall has 8 sub-stations.  The power supplied to the centre is equal to power supplied to 1,000 households.

  • 2 million bricks were used to build Irene Village Mall.  Approximately 10 average family homes could be built with the same amount of bricks.

  • The centre has 95 segmental arches in the brickwork.

  • The Tower and its water reservoir is a new landmark in Irene.

  • A 54m² jumping and leaping water fountain is situated in the Piazza.

  • Hand-cut mosaic artwork decorates the ablution entrances, drinking fountains and water features.

  • Unique sculptors and artwork can be found throughout Irene Village Mall.  Names of these artworks include “The Udder Side”, “Trixie” and “Game”.

  • There are 1,904 parking bays.  415 bays in the basement and 1,489 open air parking bays.

  • 4 Entrances will ensure speedy vehicular access to this unique shopping destination.
